Altavia ODG Unveils Groundbreaking “The Visitor” Store at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Introducing High Street Retail Concepts to Duty-Paid Shopping.

Altavia ODG proudly announces the grand opening of “The Visitor,” a revolutionary addition to the travel retail landscape at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Developed in collaboration with Chalhoub Group, “The Visitor” redefines the traditional duty-paid retail experience, elevating it to new heights of luxury and innovation.

Crafted to captivate the millions of travelers passing through the airport annually, “The Visitor” stands as Chalhoub Group’s flagship store, marking their entry into the dynamic realm of travel retail within the Kingdom. Embodying a unique fusion of luxury and travel, this pioneering retail concept offers an unparalleled shopping journey, enticing passengers to explore its expansive array of offerings.

One of the most notable features of “The Visitor” is its integration of shop fronts inspired by high street retail, a departure from the typical duty-paid retail environment. Gone are the days of solely focusing on price and promotions; instead, “The Visitor” prioritizes service and experiences, redefining the duty-paid retail landscape.

Designed with meticulous attention to detail by Altavia ODG’s expert design team, “The Visitor” boasts an innovative layout that beckons exploration. Strategic walkways, ample lighting, and digital touchpoints guide travelers through a curated selection of over 200 distinguished brands across various categories, including fragrances, confectionery, and fashion.

To address the challenges posed by the store’s long and linear layout, Altavia ODG implemented a Y-shaped navigation system, seamlessly guiding customers through the space. Previously divided into three separate stores, the integration of show stoppers strategically placed throughout “The Visitor” unifies the space, ensuring a cohesive and engaging shopping experience for travelers.

“The Visitor” sets a new standard for duty-paid retail, emphasizing service, experiences, and brand curation over traditional price and promotion strategies. With a focus on sustainability, the store utilizes innovative materials and repurposes existing MEP services to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
